Sub-course B.2: Technical review of national inventory reports – Energy sector

Sub-course B2 covers the technical review of the energy sector in the national GHG inventory. The course contains seven lessons that are organized in four parts, reflecting the structure of the sector. For inventory purposes, the energy sector is organized into three broad categories: Fuel combustion activities (category 1.A); Fugitive emissions from fuels (category 1.B) and CO2 transport and storage (category 1.C). This sub-course provides information on the basic background documentation for the review of the energy sector emission estimates using the 2006 IPCC Guidelines. It will take approximately 940 minutes for less experienced readers (510 minutes for experienced readers) to complete this sub-course.

Sub-course B2 has seven lessons:

  • Lesson 1: Introduction
  • Lesson 2: Review of the Energy sector
  • Lesson 3: Stationary Combustion
  • Lesson 4: Mobile Combustion
  • Lesson 5: Reference Approach
  • Lesson 6: Fugitive emissions from fuels
  • Lesson 7: CO2 transport and storage
